Arizona’s second largest city,Tucson (TOO-sahn) is the perfect blend of little town charm and large city convenience. The Southwest is well-represented by Tucson’s cactus covered landscape, verb of green mountains, and Mexican-inspired architecture. Tucson’s nickname is “Old Pueblo” and over one million people call it home. Indeed, the area is so hospitable that archaeologists assume it has been continuously inhabited for the last 12,000 years.
Tucson is nestled in the valley of five small mountain ranges, the shining star of which is Mount Lemmon in the Santa Catalina range. At over 9,000 feet, it is the southernmost winter ski resort in the country. But don’t let the mountains fool you: Tucson is a desert city. Several state and national parks surround the city , including Saguaro National Park, where a lot of the picturesque magazine photos of imposing saguaro cactus come from, The Spanish mission, San Xavier del Bac
IBT’s Bar & Food
IBT’s Bar & Food has been entertaining locals and tourists since 1985. Our gay bar is one of the best dance clubs in the Southwest. We are the city’s premier drag show locale, complete with a patio for relaxing, a full-service bar with great drink specials, and a live DJ Tuesday through Sunday. We also feature a second DJ Wednesday through Saturday so you can enjoy upbeat, fun music out on the patio as successfully, where smokers are welcome. The patio also offers dancing the entire late hours, with songs by our second DJ.
Inside, you’ll also find a large twirl floor that operates seven days a week. As if that wasn’t enough, we feature fantastic entertainment every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 9 p.m.–stop in to see one of our beloved drag shows. Every Thursday and Friday at 11 pm, watch the GoGo Boys dance the night away. We also have a 2nd full service bar on the patio where you can mingle with friends. Some of us are old enough to retain when IBT’s was scandalous. Established during the Reagan Era in 1985, IBT’s has been THE gay bar/nightclub for a third of a century and it shows no signs of being anything other than a great place to see, be seen, and shake your backside (as Reagan would possess said). They have a big dance floor, karaoke, and a fun lineup of drag shows. We suppose there might be somebody out there who would still consider it scandalous, but Doug Ducey lives in Phoenix.
