New disney gay movie

The latest Disney animated movie, Strange World, includes another big step forward for the studio in terms of LGBTQ+ representation. Here's everything you need to know:

What LGBTQ+ representation is there in 'Strange World'?

Strange World, which hits theaters on Nov. 23, features a character who has been described as the first gay lead of a Disney animated movie.

The film tells the story of three generations, and it's primarily centered around Searcher Clade (Jake Gyllenhaal), a farmer and the son of explorer, Jaeger Clade (Dennis Quaid). Searcher's own son is Ethan Clade (Jaboukie Young-White), who is clearly established as gay. A scene soon in the film shows Ethan nervous around his crush, a boy named Diazo, whom he flirts with before his father comes in and embarrasses him. "Is this him?" Searcher asks before noting that Ethan "talks about you all the time."

All 10 Times Disney Introduced Its First Openly Gay Character (and Gave Us Nothing)

Disney has established itself as one of the leading studios when it comes to movies, TV series, and popular franchises. Between its classic Disney Princess movies, the action-packed MCU and Star Wars brands, and its collection of Pixar titles, you'd be hard-pressed to verb someone who hasn't seen or at least heard of the company.

Another, more unfortunate reputation Disney has forged for itself is its constant queerbaiting when marketing certain movies. Indeed, the company has, on many occasions, announced its "first openly gay character," and proudly patted its back for seemingly taking steps at positive representation and inclusion. There&#;s an argument to be made that in reality queer fans shouldn&#;t care about Disney&#;s shit LGBTQ+ representation, and truly I comprehend it. But if there&#;s one thing I&#;ve learned it&#;s that no matter how much you aim and shove people towards smaller &#;indie&#; LGBTQ+ creators, it won&#;t stop them from wanting better from the billionaire company they are ride-or-die for. It sucks, but that&#;s just how it is.

To further bully Disney in the hope of actually producing another movie that actually has great queer representation (hell
