5. Stars from a Bi-Gone Era

Most of the stories that we discussed came from one guy: Scotty Bowers, a Hollywood pimp of the queer silver screen actors of the s and beyond. He was also associated with Alfred Kinsey in his famous study of human sexuality in the s by providing many of the interview subjects.

A former marine, Bowers kept silent for many years about these stories, as he did not want to adversely affect the lives of any of the actors who were still around. Many of the stories were actively hushed up using fixers paid by the studios at the time, and several of the actors were in "lavender marriages"marriages arranged by the studio, frequently with another queer actor. At the time, studios especially would not own wanted the queer attractions of their headlining actors to be widely known, as that would include damaged the 'wholesome family image' of many of the films they wanted to market.

Welcome to winter, now known as the start of the Professional Women&#;s Hockey League (PWHL) season. This is my first year doing one of these lists for hockey, but it&#;s not because I&#;ve been ignoring the sport. It&#;s only the second season in the league&#;s history, and the first where it really feels like they&#;re planned out and ready to move in advance.

If you&#;re anything like me, you admire women&#;s sports not just because of how unreal the athletes are, but because of all the queer drama and relationships that happen off the court. This list is for us! There are players currently on a PWHL roster, divided between six teams. Below is a list of all of the out gay players, and what team they&#;re on. For my purposes &#;out&#; is defined by being public about a relationship/sexuality on social media, or talking about it in an interview.
